ANTI-BULLYING POLICY

This is a threat to the happiness of all children and it must be openly dealt with. It needs the combined effort of school and home alike to combat this growing social evil.

This policy applies to incidents where any person perceives a child is being bullied. Such as:

And all children at all ages are capable of bullying others.

An incident of bullying will be discussed with everyone involved.

All parents/carers whose children are involved will be informed by letter. They will be asked to comment, and should they wish, discuss the incident with the school.

The bullies will have the incident recorded on their files for three months. Should there be no other incidents after this time it will be removed. The parents/carers of persistent bullies will be invited into school to discuss the situation and the process for exclusion may follow.

Teachers may apply sanctions, where appropriate, to bullies.

Counselling, advice and support for all parties is available.

Should you feel your child is being bullied please contact the school immediately.

Our aim is to create a culture where children feel able to tell and know that they will be heard.

The schools annual anti-nullying week involves all children.
